All volunteers are required to make a one-year commitment to service.  You will serve at the location of your choice from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM one day a week.  This is the only volunteer shift available at all locations.  If you are a cancer patient, you must be finished with active treatment for a year.

Code of Conduct Standards
We, as volunteers of Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers will do all we can to provide
quality, comprehensive cancer care to the community. In order to accomplish this,
I will:

 Greet patients, ICRC staff, co-workers, and guests with a smile and a “Hello”
 Work together as a team
 Never have the attitude that “it is not my job”
 Treat others as I want to be treated
 Be receptive to others and work-related questions or issues
 Avoid gossip or rumors
 Come to work with a professional demeanor (attitude, appearance, conduct,
and speech).
 Be open-minded to understanding different aspects of the practice other than
my own position.
 Communicate my concerns, questions, problems, and ideas to the appropriate
supervisor.
 Learn, change, improve, and accept constructive criticism.
 Stay focused on the tasks at hand to produce great results.
 Always use “please” and “thank you”.
 Use proper phone etiquette when transferring telephone calls.
 Identify myself to patients.
 Keep work areas tidy, clean, and organized.
 Treat each patient as if they are the ONLY patient.
 Communicate!
 Assist patients with issues while keeping them informed about the progress I have
made on their question / concern.
 Address physicians with appropriate title and name.
 Be a part of the solution.
 Remember that I am the first impression that patients have of Ironwood Cancer
& Research Centers.
