John (Ziyang) Liu, MD

Dr. John (Ziyang) Liu joined Ironwood Cancer and Research Centers in August 2020. He is board-certified in Hematology & Medical Oncology and Internal Medicine. Dr. Liu is a second-generation Chinese American fluent in both English and Chinese. He earned his medical degree from the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine at Marshall University and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of New Mexico Health System. Following residency, Dr. Liu went on to complete a fellowship in Hematology-Oncology at the University of Florida.

Dr. Liu specializes in lung, head & neck malignancies, myeloma & lymphoma and hematologic disorders. He has been actively involved in both translational and clinical research. He has published in several well recognized, peer-reviewed journals and has presented at national meetings. He is an active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology. He is at present an investigator in research trials.
