Oncoplastic Breast Cancer Surgery Techniques

We sat down with Breast Surgical Oncologist, Patricia Clark, MD, FACS to learn about Oncoplastic Breast Cancer Surgery.  Dr. Clark joined Ironwood Women’s Centers in July 2016. She is a board-certified general surgeon with a passion for treating breast cancer and for using oncoplastic surgery to improve outcomes. Additional plastic surgery training led her to become nationally recognized as a teacher of oncoplastic surgery at national and international conferences. These techniques reduce the need for mastectomy in patients with complex breast disease and minimize deformity.

Dr. Clark’s surgical career began in East St Louis, Illinois as a trauma surgeon. While treating gunshot wounds and managing critically ill patients in the ICU, she also utilized her plastic surgery training by performing breast reductions and oncoplastic surgery for her breast patients. She moved on to the Chicago area to further advance her interest in treatment of breast cancer surgery alongside her general surgery practice that was focused on minimally invasive surgery. She now practices breast surgery full time and is committed to developing comprehensive treatment teams individualized to each patient’s unique needs. To learn more about Dr. Clark call Ironwood Women’s Centers at 480-324-5252.
