Dr. Abonofal, a Hematologist and Oncologist, joined Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers in August 2025. He specializes in gastrointestinal cancer, as well as myeloma and lymphoma, and hematology. He earned his medical degree from the Jordan University of Science and Technology and later contributed to groundbreaking clinical trials in immunotherapy while working in the Investigational Therapeutics Department at MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Dr. Abonofal completed his residency in Internal Medicine at East Tennessee State University, where he served as Chief Resident. He followed his passion and pursued a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the University of West Virginia, with a specialized focus on Gastrointestinal Cancers.

Passionate about advancing cancer care, Dr. Abonofal is actively involved in clinical research and has authored numerous publications in respected peer-reviewed journals. He is also dedicated to medical education and was recognized as the top Resident-Teacher during his training.
