Dr. Anu Batra joined Ironwood Cancer and Research Center in 2021. She brings in over 10 years of expertise in treating patients with cancer and blood disorders in their communities. Dr. Batra earned her medical degree from the prestigious Lady Hardinge Medical College, University of Delhi, India. She finished her residency in New York and completed advanced training in Hematology and Medical Oncology from University of Arkansas, Little Rock and the Myeloma institute for research and Therapy which is one of the largest centers in the world for research and clinical care related to myeloma and plasma cell disorders.
She also completed a certificate of training in clinical and translational science in oncology at University of Arkansas and is well versed with tools and knowledge regarding cancer genomics.
Dr. Batra is board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical oncology. She is an active member of American Society of Clinical Oncology and American Society of Hematology. She has authored many papers and articles and presented at national scientific meetings. She also participated in the ASCO Quality Care Symposium.
Prior to joining Ironwood, Dr. Batra treated patients at University Hospital and Georgia Cancer Center in Augusta, Georgia. Her passion is to provide exceptional standard of care to all patients in their own communities. She specializes in breast malignancies, myeloma and lymphoma and hematologic disorders.
Her interests include advancing the field of breast cancer research, to improve therapeutic approaches in treatment of patients with all stages of breast cancer including rare breast cancers as well as breast cancer prevention. She is at present an investigator in research trials and encourages expanding access to clinical trials for patients in the community. She has expertise in the growing field of precision and personalized medicine along with immuno– oncology and is committed to providing patient centered care with compassion.
