Sujith R. Kalmadi, MD 

Medical Oncologist

Gastrointestinal Oncology 

Dr. Kalmadi joined Ironwood Cancer and Research Centers in 2008 and serves as Chief Medical Officer. After finishing his medical schooling in India, Dr. Sujith Kalmadi completed his residency training and fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.

He then served as academic clinical faculty at the Cleveland Clinic School of Medicine (Lerner School) in Cleveland, Ohio, and subsequently at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. During his tenure at these prestigious institutions, he pioneered several novel clinical research trials which have been lauded at national scientific meetings and published in peer reviewed journals.

Dr. Kalmadi is actively involved in the education of medical students and residents from Creighton University School of Medicine and Midwestern University and serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Hematology and Medical Oncology at both institutions. He has been selected multiple years by his professional peers as a Top Doc in PHOENIX Magazine.

His areas of clinical and research interests include several solid tumors, gastrointestinal malignancies, and hematological disorders. He has been the principal investigator in several innovative clinical trials across the years, which has led to FDA approval of several lifesaving cancer therapeutics.

He currently resides in Chandler with his wife and three children and enjoys tennis, chess, and racquetball during his spare time. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Medical Oncology.

Emily Ho, MD, MS, FACS

Surgeon

Breast Surgeon 

Dr. Ho joined Ironwood Women’s Centers in September 2017.  Dr. Ho is a board certified fellowship trained breast surgeon. She completed her Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship at the John Wayne Cancer Institute in Santa Monica, CA.

During her fellowship, she also trained at the University of California, Los Angles (UCLA). This prestigious fellowship afforded Dr. Ho the opportunity to conduct cutting edge clinical research while performing innovative surgeries including oncoplastic breast surgery, skin sparing and nipple sparing mastectomies, arm port placement for chemotherapy, cryoablation, and intraoperative radiation therapy.

Dr. Ho began her journey to medicine through engineering. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree at the California Institute of Technology and a Master’s Degree in Engineering at UCLA. After a successful career as a software engineer, she returned to school to complete her medical degree at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI where she was the President of the Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association.

Her engineering training contributed to her attention to detail and technical precision, leading her to pursue a career in surgery. She completed her general surgery residency at the Nassau University Medical Center in New York where she conducted research focusing on patient outcomes in trauma care.

She is an active member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, the Society of Surgical Oncology, the American College of Surgeons, the American Medical Association and the TARGIT Collaborative Group.

Outside of work, Dr. Ho enjoys spending time with family, traveling, outdoor activities, cooking, gardening, and water sports.
