Art for Body, Mind and Spirit with Gretchen Boyer

Come and enjoy a new wellness experience being offered by the Integrative Services Department. Art for Body, Mind, and Spirit with Gretchen Boyer will help you to express ideas, feelings, and thoughts.

In class, you will use a variety of media including, but not limited to: Painting, Collage, Mixed Media, Altered Books, Branch Weaving, and Repurposing Jewelry. Each media will be presented for one month with a variety of options for the attendee.

February 6, 2020 Special Event: Scarf Dyeing

Attendees will need to RSVP for the Scarf Dyeing Workshop by calling the Integrative Services Department at 480-314-6660. Scarves will be ordered for everyone who has pre-registered for the event.

February 20, 2020 – March 5, 2020: Memorabilia Paintings 

Art for Body, Mind, and Spirit with Gretchen Boyer new class is appropriately Themed, “I AM” is a quick painting project to get you in the spirit! Participants will need to bring items that represent themselves or a loved one.

March 5, 2020: Reconstructing Jewels Workshop

Bring in old jewelry that you no longer wear.  In this class participants will learn how to take jewelry apart and put it together again as a new piece or holiday decor.

March 18, 2020 –  April 2, 2020: Fibers, Weaving, and Burlap, Oh My!

Learn to use yarns, fabrics, branches to form artistic wall pieces.

April 16, 2020: Repurposing Books into Art Forms

Learn how to use old books and turn them into various types of art.

May 7, 2020: Printmaking Magic

Learn mono-printing with string, found objects, and sponges.  Bring in objects that have interesting textures and shapes to use for this project.
