Dr. Manisha Chandar joined Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers in September 2019. She is board certified in Hematology and Medical Oncology. She completed her undergraduate training and medical training at Washington University in St. Louis and Midwestern University, respectively.
Following this, she spent three years in Internal Medicine residency training at the University of Chicago and subsequently completed a fellowship in Hematology & Oncology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX.
During her fellowship training she worked extensively in the area of gastric and colon cancer research. In addition, she has been involved in many research projects and quality improvement initiatives, with several publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at national meetings. At present she is an investigator in research trials. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology as well as the American Society of Hematology.
Dr. Chandar specializes in gastrointestinal malignancies and hematologic disorders. She believes in the importance of communication with patients and their families, to ensure there is a clear understanding of a patient’s diagnosis and the available treatment options.
Her focus is on providing an individualized approach to Oncology care, personalizing care to the needs of each patient.
