Dr. Rajesh Bagai joined Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers in August 2013. He is board-certified in Medical Oncology & Hematology He earned his medical degree at the age of 23 from Northeast Ohio Medical University, having completed the six-year honors program in medicine.
Amber was born and raised in Arizona and has worked as an oncology nurse since 2011. She received her Bachelors and Masters of Science in Nursing/Family Nurse Practitioner from Grand Canyon University.
Scott is originally from the Philadelphia area and completed his training receiving his Master’s Degree in PA Sciences at Saint Francis University, Pennsylvania in 2004. After completing PA school, Scott moved to Phoenix Arizona where he started his career working in Radiation and Medical Oncology.
Dr. John (Ziyang) Liu joined Ironwood Cancer and Research Centers in August 2020. He is fellowship-trained in Hematology & Medical Oncology and board-certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. Liu is a first-generation Chinese-American fluent in both English and Chinese. He earned his medical degree from the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine at Marshall University and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of New Mexico Health System. Following residency, Dr. Liu went on to complete a fellowship in Hematology-Oncology at the University of Florida.
Dr. Murali Murty is a board-certified Radiation Oncologist and joined Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers in November 2014. He has practiced general radiation oncology and stereotactic radiosurgery in Phoenix/Scottsdale, and Indianapolis.
Dr. Nabong joined Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers in 2003. He is originally from the Philippines, where he received his medical training at the University of East Ramon Magsaysay.
Dr. Pasquarella is extremely interested in thoracic malignancies and how the field is evolving towards personalized medicine, including chemotherapy-free regimens with expanded options of targeted therapeutics along with the advent of immunotherapy. He has a particular interest in early palliative care intervention with his patients to ensure the utmost quality of life from day one of their treatment onwards. He has been involved in multiple projects that have been presented nationally, and has personally presented at ACP, ASH, and LLM. He has also been published for his work he presented at ASH in JCO Oncology Practice. He is an active member of both the American Society of Hematology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
Dr. Christine Saraceni joined Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers in August 2016. She attended medical school at Midwestern University, Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine, completed her Osteopathic Internship at Northside Hospital and her Internal Medicine residency and Hematology Oncology fellowship training at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, PA where she served as the Chief hematology oncology fellow.

Bettina (Tina) is a Nurse Practitioner for Ironwood Radiation Oncology Department in our Glendale location. She attended St. Vincent School of Nursing, Toledo, Ohio to become an RN. She has a Bachelor Science of Nursing from Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio. At the University of Toledo, she completed her Family Nurse Practitioner education. She worked at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio for 30 years; 22 of these years were in Radiation Oncology.

Dr. Trebska offers her patients both breast conserving oncoplastic surgeries as well as total mastectomies. In cooperation with plastic surgeons she will ensure the best cosmetic and oncologic outcome for her patients. When axillary dissection is required, she performs reverse axillary mapping to decrease the risk of lymphedema.
Dr. DeRoock joined Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers in 2009 after completing a residency in Internal Medicine followed by a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the University of California at Davis. He is a first-generation Panamanian-American fluent in both English and Spanish.
Nicole is a board certified adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner. She grew up in central New Jersey and moved to Gilbert in 2011. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a minor in Public Health and her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at the University of Arizona. Prior to joining Ironwood, she worked as an operating room circulating nurse as well as on a cardiac telemetry unit.

Dr. Onyemaechi Okolo-Taku joined Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers in 2021. She has been blessed with a multicultural and multinational upbringing, which has greatly influenced her everyday interactions, her cultural competency, and her work. She was born in Nigeria, and lived there with her family until the age of 8, after which she moved to Texas. Subsequently she spent 3 years in an international boarding school in England. Dr. Okolo- Taku completed her undergraduate degree at The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, and after college moved to Spain for a little over 1 year.
Jennifer was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina where her family still resides. She first obtained her Associates Degree in Nursing in 2000 at Trident Technical College in Charleston. She has since held many positions taking care of oncology patients as an RN.
Dr. Puneet Bhalla is a board-certified Medical Oncologist and joined Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers in September 2006. Dr. Bhalla is a graduate of Bangalore Medical College, Bangalore University. Azam Farooquim, MD joined Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers in August 2020. He obtained his medical degree from Rush University in Chicago, Illinois and completed his Internal Medicine training at Indiana University in Indianapolis, Indiana. Following residency, he completed his fellowship in Hematology & Medical Oncology at Saint Louis University in Saint Louis, Missouri.
Dr. Kalmadi joined Ironwood Cancer and Research Centers in 2008 and serves as Chief Medical Officer. After finishing his medical schooling in India, Dr. Sujith Kalmadi completed his residency training and fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.

Dr. Kukunoor received his post-graduate training at North Oakland Medical Centers in Pontiac, Michigan; Wayne State University in Detroit; and the prestigious Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. Keegan originally pursued a Bachelor’s in Social Work at Western Kentucky University in 2001. She then decided that becoming a nurse would more closely align with her goals of caring for the community and obtained her Associates in Nursing at Ivy Tech Community College in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Dr Sandhu specializes in all hematological disorders and adult cancer. By careful listening and using latest technological advances she forms an individualized treatment plan for her patients. In her words “I want to be with my patients at every step of their medical journey”.
Dr. Amikar Sehdev is a board-certified medical oncologist and hematologist who has been practicing medicine for over 10 years. He received his medical degree from the Government Medical College and Hospital in Chandigarh, India where he was a National Merit Scholarship recipient.

Dr. Tam Nguyen is a board certified Radiation Oncologist and joined Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers in July of 2021. He had previously practiced in Show Low and Las Vegas where he was voted Castle Connolly Regional Top Doctors for 2014-2018. He is also past Clinical Assistant Professor at University Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada and an investigator of the Gynecological Oncology Group.
Dr. Chandar specializes in all areas of adult cancers and hematologic disorders with a special interest in the areas of breast, genitourinary, and gastrointestinal oncology. Brandon J. Anderson, MD is a fellowship trained breast surgical oncologist. He completed his fellowship training at City of Hope National Medical Center learning the nuances of treating both benign and malignant breast disease. Dr. Anderson earned his Bachelor of Arts in Human Biology for Stanford University and later went on to complete his Doctor of Medicine degree at Howard University College of Medicine. He is board certified in General Surgery and completed his residency at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Dr. Pranshu Bansal is a triple board-certified physician in internal medicine, hematology, and oncology. He attended medical school in New Delhi, India at Safdarjung Hospital which is one of the largest tertiary care centers in Asia. After that he moved to the USA and worked as a bench researcher in oncology, the rapid pace of drug development in oncology made him develop a strong interest in clinical cancer care. To pursue his passion in oncology he underwent further training in Internal medicine at the University of Missouri and a fellowship in hematology/oncology at the University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Dr. Ronik Bhangoo is a Radiation Oncologist and joined Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers in January 2022. Dr. Bhangoo believes in providing high quality, compassionate, and patient-centered cancer care to patients in their own community. He collaborates closely with a multidisciplinary cancer care team to provide patients a comprehensive but individualized approach to treating cancer.
Dr. Monique Chang joined Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers in August 2006. Dr. Chang is a board-certified medical oncologist who has special interests in all areas of care related to breast cancer, gynecologic cancers, and geriatric oncology.
Dr. Victor Chiu joined Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers in 2022. He understands the importance of creating a personalized care plan for each patient, which may include molecularly targeted therapies, immunotherapy, or other new therapies in clinical trials. While he has a special interest in gastrointestinal cancers (colon, stomach, pancreas, liver, esophagus), he is a general oncologist experienced in treating patients with all types of cancers including breast, lung, and genitourinary cancers.

Dr. Anu Batra joined Ironwood Cancer and Research Center in 2021. She brings in over 10 years of expertise in treating patients with cancer and blood disorders in their communities. Dr. Batra earned her medical degree from the prestigious Lady Hardinge Medical College, University of Delhi, India. She finished her residency in New York and completed advanced training in Hematology and Medical Oncology from Winthrop Rockefeller Cancer Center at the University of Arkansas, Little rock. She also completed certificate of training in clinical and translational science in oncology at University of Arkansas.
Dr. Cherington joined Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers in July 2016 after completing his fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at the Mayo Clinic. An Arizona native, he earned undergraduate degrees in Biology and Spanish at Arizona State University prior to attending the University of Arizona for his medical doctorate.
Alex is originally from Seoul, Korea, where his father served in the U.S. Army. He grew up in the Midwest and attended Kansas State University, obtaining a degree in Mathematics. He then attended Fort Hays State University earning his Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. He later attended Chamberlain College of Nursing to earn his Master’s of Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Dr. Chan treats both benign and malignant breast conditions and focuses on a multidisciplinary, evidence-based approach to caring for each patient as a whole individual. Her training in breast surgery enables her to offer patients comprehensive breast cancer care in collaboration with Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology, and Plastic Surgery. She is a member of the American College of Surgeons, Association for Academic Surgery, American Society of Breast Surgeons, and Society of Surgical Oncology.
Cynthia Carsten, MSN, AGACNP-BC, AOCNP has been in oncology care for over 10 years. In 2015 she earned her Master of Science in Nursing from UCLA. She is board certified in Adult/Gero Acute Care, and is an Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner as well. In addition to providing excellent, evidence-based oncology care, providing compassionate and personal care is her top priority where she enjoys building relationships with her patients. And she is thrilled to provide oncology care with Dr. Klein! Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and learning to play the ukulele.

Marianne Mildenberger, MD has trained and worked in Canada and the United States. She completed medical school at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, where clinical rotations ranged from those found in a cosmopolitan city to the experience of health care delivery in a remote community on the northern BC coast.Dr. Mildenberger began her Radiation Oncology career at the British Columbia Cancer Agency. She immigrated to the United States with her family and has lived and cared for patients in the greater Phoenix area for more than two decades. Along the way, she became a US citizen. Dr. Mildenberger brings to Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers, deep clinical experience in Radiation Oncology and the personal perspective of a cancer patient.
