Dr. Ian DeRoock joined Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers in 2009 after completing a residency in Internal Medicine followed by a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the University of California at Davis. He is a first-generation Panamanian American fluent in both English and Spanish. He previously earned his medical degree at the University of Arizona. Dr. DeRoock is board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology.

Ramanathan is a recognized expert for GI cancers and has research interests in new drug development. In the last 25 years, Dr. Ramanathan has been involved in the development of several new drugs (PARP, PI3K, hedgehog inhibitors, liposomal formulations etc), participated in numerous first in human agent studies and had a pivotal role in the development and approval of oxaliplatin for colon cancer and nab-paclitaxel for pancreatic cancer.
